Creative Fingers Challenge – buttons

I am using a Drawn with Character digi today, it it a simple silhouettte that is a perfect foil for this Daisy Trail digikit, which is called New Year 2012.  The Banner is cut from a Joanna Sheen die and the tiny heart embellishments came from the same die-cut.  the topper is finished with frantage in shabby white and is mounted onto a giftbag.

The new digi that I am previewing today is called Bat Woman 2  – Ideal for some Hallowe’en fun!

I decided though, that I wanted to colour her to look more like a nymph or fairy so I’ve chosen a soft colour palatte of Promarkers.  I printed her twice and cut one out to make a mask then used Colour Box chalks to make the background. The bird cage is cut with a Spellbinders die and coloured with the same chalk as the background and the Hunkydory sentiment was edged in the same way.  The papers used were free in a magazine last year and I dug out some flowers from my stash to finish it off.

Pop along to our fun challenge to win prizes http://scrappers-delights-challenge-blog.blogspot.co.uk/

Tags for a farewell tag tree

Our curate is leaving our church this month having completed his training, and is moving to his own parish in The Netherlands.  He has been with us for 3 yers and he, his wife and their 3 children will be greatly missed.  Instead of cards, it was decided that every member of the church would complete a parcel tag with a personal message so that the family can hang them in their new home as a reminder to their time spent in the West of England.

“How lovely” I thought, then, “How dull!”  Of course I couldn’t just write on a plain tag so have decorated some for my family to complete.

I’ve used various brands to create these tags – the one in the middle is mide with a Christian scrapbook paper from Time to Sow.  I made a simple collage to highlight the phrases  thought most appropriate.  The other two were made using Hunkdory ‘Timeless Elegance’.
