Wedding album

Have I told you that my sister is getting married? Well I have a very busy few days leading up to the first but I just wanted to share this gift I have made for her.

I bought a really cheap and cheerful 8″ scrapbook album from The works.  I intend to make digital scrapbook pages of the wedding. I decorated the album using lace scraps from the dress, My Paper Stash embellishments and old necklace and some paper flowers from my stash. For the inside front cover I used a fitting sentiment on a topper also from My Paper stash and mounted it onto a mat made using Spellbinders. As I will give this gift before we have wedding photos, I have printed out the first scrapbook page.

18th birthday

Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem:
Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up,
until the time is ripe—and you’re ready.

Song of Soloman 8:4

I love the verse above – it seems just perfect to place with an 18th birthday card.    This card is made for the beautiful daughter of a dear friend, who loves owls.  I bought the gem 18 and owl at the Hobbycrfats show in Birmingham.   The leaves and sentiment are cut from craft-core Cordinations card using Spellbinders dies and the tree was cut by hand from the same card and run through a Darice embossing folder before being distressed.  The card is mounted onto a kraft card base.

Challenges: – things with wingss – in the garden – bling – use die cuts – celebration – nature’s glories – wings – birthdays – embossing plus bling – nature – left hand column

Creative Fingers Challenge – anything but a card

And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Ezekiel 33:32

Welcome to another post for Creative Fingers.  This week’s challenge is anything but a card and I have made a gift bag using this delightful image from Art by Miran.  I bought the kraft bag from The Hobby House and the butterfly papers were free with a magazine.  I have used a new Spellbinders die called the butterfly tree and the sentiment was bought in the same set. The pink cord is upcycled from an old gift bag (I can’t bin them without removing the handles and trims)  and one piece is used with the Hunkydory tag and the other is not fixed so that it could be tied to close the bag when filled.

I found the one my heart loves.

Song of Soloman 3:4

My wonderful sister is getting married in August, and as I have volunteered to make the cake, dress, invitations and thank yous and do the flowers, I have had to start early.  I have had this beautiful curvy Mo Manning bride for a whileand it was just perfect to set off the Eureka digital sentiment.  I have coloured her in coffee brown as this will be the colour of the dress.  The groom is a little incidental, though I have paid homage to his red hair!

The theme of the wedding is pink and brown and I have dressed the final 8″ x 8″ card to match.  The ribbon was an offcut in cream but I coloured it with a Promarker to match the Spellbinders corners.  I think I’d like a more blousy bow but my sister can’t stand fussy cards so I’ve toned it down to her tastes, but did slip a few pearls in!
