Creative Moments Challenge – Red, white and blue

Today I am bringing you another red-white and blue card for the Creative Moments challenge. I do love the colour cobination of red and blue for cards and this image from Mirtillamente has been coloured with Promarkers before being assembled into a card using Kanban papers again. The sentiments have all been stamped by hand using Polkadoodles clear stamps – isn’t it a lovely font?

My baby girl will be 17 next week – I can hardlt believe it! Anyway , I hope she likes the card and its nod to this birthday being jubilee year.

Up-cycled crafty packaging

I bought some crafting embellishments in a small wooden tray divided into three sections.  I couldn’t bear to throw it away so I have re cycled it into this decorative piece using papers from Hot Off The Press and decoupage from an ancient Kanban kit, which matches quite well.  Covering the whole tray was pretty fiddly, with the small spaces and narrow edges but I did so and decorated the back too.  the back also has a plaque left blank for a message.

Three Kings

Athough I love using and colouring digi stamps, every now and again I like to get out proper wood-mounted rubber stamps.  Here I have used two and then embossed the images with black embossing powder.  It seems strange to use black on a Christmas card (and indeed as I schoolgirl i was once marked down for designing a wrapping paper that had a black background) but with with the silver foil on the Kanban backing paper, I still see the light in this card.

Creative Moments challenge – Anything goes

I have 3 cards to share today, all for the Creative Moments challenge and all using digis designed by Kristyn McInnes -Buckingham, from her Oz new release at My Stitch Back In Twine.

The first card uses and was was coloured red using a Ruby Promarker before have glitter glued on.  The backing paper is vintage Kanban, but it reminded me of the wicked witch’s guards.

Next, I have used Papermania capsule papers and embellishments in Wild Rose and used Promarkers to colour The balloon.  Silver accents were used and i added a pink cross and congratulations sentiment so the card could be used for a church wedding or baptism.

Last but not least, Poppies!  Simply coloured using Promarkers again, this image was cut out and mounted onto black which enhanced  the littered black centre of the flower.

This is one of the cards I have made for him using a Mo Manning digistamp. I have used age numbers from Kanban, a self printed sentiment and 2 leaves from the little book of sentiments for men from Hunkydory.  They have been layered at rightangles behind the coloured image and placed onto a gignhambackground.

My 2014 top 15

Thank you for following my blog this year and allowing me to share my creations.  I am planning to make fewer cards next year and concentrate on more sewing projects…well, we’ll see.

I have made approxiamately 200 cards this year and you can imagine how tricky it is to narrow it down to a few favourites, but here goes!  (In no particular order.)

Lili of the Valley stamped image and papers from the Bo Peep collection.

This is an Emma Canning digi, available from Polka doodles and the papers and embellishments are from Hot Off The Press.

I think this is my favourite.  The papers were from a Tattered Lace magazine and the digi is by Jellypark.

But this is a very close second!  Made entirely using a Polkadoodles CD, I did a lot of fussy cutting to make this circular card.

Wishing you all a happy and blessed new year.

Creative Fingers – Thank you x

We DT members at Creative Fingers like to create a card from time to time, to thank our fabulous sponsors.  Without our sponsors, we would not be able to run the challenges and offer such great prizes.  This image is drawn by Nikky of Polkadoodles and is available on a Tatty Twinkle CD-rom from My Craft Studio.
