Reason for the Season – Easter card

Happy Easter to you all. I normally  wouldn’t wish Happy Easter until Easter Sunday but had to post early to enter my cards into the challenges!  I send a lot of Easter cards and try to ensure most reflect the holiness of the resurrection of Christ.  This is a very special one for my sister – the one person who appreciates beautiful cards as much as I do. It is also for all of you – who clearly fall into the category too. 🙂

The cross was cut with a Sizzlits die, whilst all the other edges were cut with Spellbinders.   The patterned paper has spring pansies on it and is from the Grandma’s button Box paper line from a few years back.  The silver has an embossed linen effect.

Because my sister is truely fabby I had almost the whole day to myself today, as she took my children out.  So I made a few cards and even wrote my Easter cards.  They might not have been posted to gt there in tme but they are in the post!

Today’s card is made using Lemonade Stand by Hot off the Press.  I don’t know what I’ll do when I have finished this paper kit as I just love it.  The cute digi is from Eureka and made me smile 🙂

Quick card – HOTP

I was tempted to have a go when I saw the 20 minutes or less challenges at 365 cards.  I my cards usually take quite a while to make, especially if there is colouring involved, so I thought this would be a good exercise for me.

Where to start but my Hot Off The Press papers – I just love the colours in this line.  Each part was inked around the edges with Vintage Photo and then I just played with the pieces until I was happy with my layout.

Another scrapbook page

Ooops!  I meant to get up early but instead I made some more scrapbook pages.  I have used Daisy trail Near Year 2012 digikit, the colours of which are substanial enough not be overpowered by the dark pictures but bright enough to balance them.

I am entering the top page into a challenge at http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.no/2013/03/marchs-sketch-challenge.html

Scrapbook page – Children at Elton’s 40th Party

As a teacher, my favourite times of the year are school holdays!  the reason why, beyond the obvious, is that at 9 o’ clock in the morning I can be sitting in my bed making scrapbook pages.

So here is one i made this morning using a photo of my daughter at my cousin’s 40 birthday party.

I used a sketch – here it is:

Fantastic Prize for 18″ doll lovers!

My daughter has an 18″ doll called Rebecca.  She is a Gotz Happy Days doll and is very pretty with long dark hair.

I make most of her clothes and keep an eye on certain websits for the latest trends in doll fashion!

I came across this competition, with a lovely prize – take a look:

Man’s Card using Kanban

I was saddened to hear that Kanban will soon discontinue trading.  I really like their products, especially the matt finishe of their cards and toppers.

Anyway, here is a card I made for my firend and neighbour, whose garden puts mine to shame!!  Of course if I spent less time inside making cards and more time out working in the garden…he wouldn’t have got a card!
